Calls for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Proposals to Publish an International Trenchless Industry Magazine and Associated Media under Licence on behalf of the International Society of Trenchless Technology (ISTT)

Deadline for submission: 31 October 2020

The International Society for Trenchless Technology (ISTT) seeks Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested publishers for proposals to publish, under exclusive licence, a magazine (and related products and services) to service its members and the trenchless technology industry at the global level.

The Society’s previous official magazine (Trenchless International) ceased publication at the end of August 2020, by agreement.

The magazine was published (in English) on a quarterly basis in both hardcopy and digital format. In addition, a fortnightly email news and a dedicated website was published. The ISTT seeks a similar or upgraded publishing product going forward.

Any interested publisher wishing to participate in the EOI procedure is invited to register its interest by initially contacting Peter Smeallie, Executive Director,  ISTT by email smeallie@istt.com with a copy to Trevor Gosatti gosatti@iinet.net.au

 upon which ISTT will provide detailed proposal information.

Interested publishers will then be asked to provide short form proposals as to the services they could provide with respect to the required media services by the ISTT. ISTT will then determine one or more proposers to invite to prepare more detailed proposals to the ISTT. Only publishers deemed qualified by ISTT will receive the invitation to make further detailed proposals.

ISTT is the sole judge as to the preselection of the publishers. The selection will take into account the following criteria:

  • Reputation and experience of the publisher;
  • Experience in publishing industry magazines, online media or other relevant journals; and
  • Other services the proponent could provide to the benefit of the ISTT.

The International Society of Trenchless Technology (ISTT) was established in September 1986, with the object "to advance the science and practice of trenchless technology for the public benefit..." and "to promote education, training, study and research in the said science and practice for the public benefit, and to publish the useful results of the same." In the years that followed, ISTT affiliated with regional trenchless societies located throughout the world to advance these objectives globally. The ISTT has 28 Affiliated Societies. All recorded members of an Affiliated Society are members of ISTT. In addition to Affiliated Society members, ISTT has a limited number of members who reside in regions where no Affiliated Society exists.
